Q. “Is True Moisture™ equal to Perfection™, CeraVe™ Cream, Epiceram™, and Triceram™? What’s the difference?

ANSWER

True Moisture® Clinical Lipid Therapy® Cream A and Cream B and Gentle Facial Lotion are not equal to Perfection™ cream, CeraVe™, Epiceram™, and
Triceram™. Perfection™ cream, CeraVe™ Cream, Epiceram™, and Triceram™ are all physiologic / non-physiologic lipid creams, but True Moisture® Creams and Lotion should not be considered equal to Perfection™ cream, CeraVe™, Epiceram™, or Triceram™ brands. Perfection™ cream contains caprylic/capric triglycerides, true cholesterol, and other ingredients such as vitamin E, isopropylparaben, isobutylparaben, and butylparaben preservatives, not used in True Moisture® products, and is thus different. CeraVe™ Cream contains caprylic/capric triglycerides, ceramide, cholesterol, methylparaben, propylparaben, and phenoxyethanol ingredients not used in True Moisture® products, and thus, CeraVe™ Cream is different than True Moisture® products.

Triceram™ and Epiceram are unique and based on a patented formula using an optimal 3:1:1 ratio of ceramides, cholesterol, and free fatty acids to normalize skin barrier function. True Moisture® Creams and Lotion do not contain actual ceramides or pseudoceramides, do not contain actual cholesterol, and do not use this same patented formula as Triceram™ or Epiceram™. True Moisture® products follow a different system, our patent-pending Two Cream Two Lipid method to maximize physiologic lipid delivery to the skin. Triceram™ and Epiceram™ contain true ceramides while True Moisture® contains Questamide H, a non-ceramide non-pseudo ceramide molecule. Questamide H is a synthetic substitute with ceramide functionality, but is not at all a ceramide. In addition, Triceram™ also contains lanolin, vitamin E, propylene glycol, methylparaben, and propylparaben. Epiceram™ contains phenoxyethanol. True moisture® products do not contain these ingredients. Epiceram™ is a registered trademark of Ceragenix Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Epiceram™ is available by Rx only as a Prescription Medical Device; Federal Law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician. True Moisture® products are not by prescription. They are simply OTC skin moisturizers and claim only to moisturize, and do not claim to repair or alter the structure of the skin.

Perfection™, CeraVe™, Triceram™ and Epiceram™ are all very fine creams, but are different than True Moisture® Creams. Triceram™ and Epiceram™ are the original physiologic lipid creams and are the only patented creams with true ceramides, cholesterol, and free fatty acids; and with optimal mole ratios and clinical data that show excellent efficacy in atopic dermatitis. Efficacy of Epiceram™ is favorably comparable to topical steroid medications, without the steroid side effects. As True Moisture® products are different from Epiceram™ and Triceram™, True Moisture® products do not make the same claims as Epiceram™ and Triceram™ and should not be confused.
